Kalaiya Centre
Kalaiya is the headquarter of Bara district (one of 75 districts within Nepal) which is situated approximately 270 km south of Kathmandu. The area falls within the plain belt of Nepal, bordering India. The town itself, although a district headquarter, has nothing much to offer except agriculture based work. The majority of people living in this area are of Indian decent who speak little Nepali but mostly their own dialect. Three kilometers away from this small town lies a village called "Teng Rahal" which is the small village in which we are focused. The nice looking houses have been built with assistance from New SADLE and its main donor "Sisters of Oirschot, The Netherlands" New SADLE now offers following services through its centre :
- Small scale clinic
- Arrangements for foster parents
- Income generating programs
- Day care centre
